When you think of outreach what do you think of? Scheduled events at the church that entails lots of meetings to plan and volunteer coordination or do you think of a friend or neighbor going through a difficult time? When we wake up in the morning we have an opportunity to make a difference in difficult times. “We are Gods workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God has prepared in advance for us to do” Ephesians 2:10. Some say their calling is not outreach, but God has called us all for outreach. Acts 1:8 says “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.” You means you and me. In these difficult times we will no longer be able to sit on the sidelines and be a spectator. It is time to allow God to use us to be a part of building his church. Outreach should be a part of our daily lives as well as outreach at the church. Not everyone can serve in foreign countries I know, or volunteer at the soup kitchen, but we all have neighbors, friends or people we know in need. We can open our doors to someone and invite them to coffee or to have dinner with us. It doesn’t have to be something elaborate and expensive. Our hospitality can be their hospital. God can use us now so don’t let Satan convince you otherwise. God comforts us in our troubles so that we can comfort others and when they are troubled we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us 2 Corinthians 1:4. So I challenge you today lets come off the sidelines and see souls restored to the Kingdom!.
